BASF To Build Chelating Agent Plant

In order to meet the fast growing global market demand for its chelating agent, BASF will build a new Trilon M (methylglycinediacetic acid) world scale plant at Evonik’s Theodore, AL site. The new production facility will start up in the second half of 2015, according to the company. BASF’s chelating agent is readily biodegradable and improves the cleaning effect of detergents and cleaners in home care and I&I cleaning applications.
